BASIC WIOA ELIGIBILTIY - REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION

  • To determine if you are eligible for services you must complete this application and supply the following documentation.

    • Social Security Card
    • Birth Certificate, U.S. Passport, Permanent Resident Card or DACA
    • Picture ID. (School, Driver’s License or State ID)
    • Selective Service Registration or Waiver (Males Only)

    Additional information may be requested, such as, a copy of your High School Diploma or transcripts and proof of income to determine eligibility.  See below for possible exemptions to the proof of income requirements.


PROOF OF INCOME EXEMPTIONS FOR ADULT AND DISLOCATED WORKER PROGRAM

  • You may not be required to provide income, if any of the following categories apply to you or a member of your household.

    • SNAP
    • TANF
    • Homeless
    • Notice of Layoff (applies to applicant only)

    You may be required to provide proof of income (previous 6 months from date of application) if the above do not apply.  



PROOF OF INCOME (EXCEPTIONS) - YOUTH PROGRAM ONLY (Age 14-24)

  • You may not be required to provide proof of income, if you are an Out-of-School Youth ages 16-24 and any of the following categories apply to you.  

    • High school dropout
    • English language learner
    • Offender
    • Runaway
    • Homeless
    • Pregnant or parenting
    • Foster Youth
    • Individual with a disability
    • Receives free or reduced price lunch

    All In-School-Youth ages 14-21 are required to provide proof of income (previous 6 months from date of application). 


  • WIOA Income Guidelines 

    To be eligible for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs and services, individuals must meet WIOA eligibility requirements. When determining an individual's WIOA eligibility based on low-income status, Workforce Development Boards use the income guidelines identified by the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) Lower Living Standard Income Level (LLSIL) guidelines and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Poverty Guidelines. Each of these guidelines is updated annually, and the Texas Workforce Commission updates this page twice a year with the new income amounts and effective dates. 

  • WORKinTEXAS        

    WorkInTexas.com serves employers and job seekers, and it is the primary tool used to implement the Employment Service (ES) program. WorkInTexas.com is provided at no cost, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and seeks to match qualified job seekers with potential job opportunities, online and in real time, by comparing things like work experience, skills, abilities, education and other factors.

    Individuals seeking a new job, different job, or an additional job can post their résumé, search job listings (including Texas state agency jobs), obtain employer contact information to apply for jobs, get information about the job market, and receive a variety of other services online and also via Workforce Solutions offices throughout the state.

  • Eligible Training Providers

    Eligible Training Providers (ETPs) are entities with job training programs approved by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) to provide Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)–funded training services. Local Workforce Development Boards (Boards) fund training for Adult and Dislocated Worker program participants primarily through Individual Training Accounts (ITAs). The publicly accessible Statewide Eligible Training Providers List (ETPL) includes all programs that are currently approved by TWC for ITA funding. The Statewide ETPL Performance Report includes data related to student enrollment for approved programs from July 1, 2018, through June 30, 2020.

  • Apply for Federal Student Aid  

    Use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form to apply for financial
     aid for college or graduate school.

  • Register with Selective Service 

    All males born on or after January 1, 1960, who have reached their 18th birthday must register with the U.S. Selective Service.

    questions to identify occupations relevant to your likes and interests. Your results will lead you to a list of occupations for you to explore.
